This site is for homeowners who already have paperwork and want to test whether the headline saving stands up. It is general information only, not advice on your home or contract.
If you only do four things
- Separate the kit price, the grant, any loan and the claimed annual saving. They are not the same thing.
- Find the tariff and efficiency assumptions in writing (SPF/SCOP, flow temp, export rate, self-consumption).
- Ask what the comparison is: old boiler, new gas boiler, or “stay as you are”.
- Check what is not in the install price: radiators, cylinder, electrics, making good, redecoration.
Heat pump quote in hand?
Read how to read your estimate, then use the Heat Pump Quote Reality Checker with your gas bill and the installer’s figures. The tool does not store your data. It is not MCS-approved or a design check.
Solar or battery quote?
Start with how to check a solar and battery quote and what payback claims often miss.
